Board Meeting April 8th, 2024 & approved 2024 budget

The meeting was attended in person by Steve Fabry, Kostas Lazarides, Debbie Lambert, Jeff Spoerk, and Wendy Fisenne.  Nate Ziarek participated by phone.  The meeting was at the Fisenne home and called to order at 7:09 pm on April 8, 2024.

Secretary’s Report

  • Refund from West Bend Insurance of $9
  • Letters were sent to 3 homeowners regarding delinquent dues
  • A lien remains in effect for 1 homeowner
  • A motion was made and unanimously passed to move $15,000 into a 6 month CD paying 4.91% interest.
  • Less than 50% of homeowners use ACH for paying dues.  The board would like all homeowners to use ACH for dues payments as it saves the Association money on accounting fees

Environmental Control Committee (ECC)

Debbie Lambert reporting

  • Waiting for the land to dry out for east boat area sand delivery
  • Swale on the east side of the lake has been cleaned out
  • Spring clean up has begun
  • Nutrasorb bags have been installed by the inlet
  • Planned tasks:
    • Mulch to be delivered and distributed
    • Swim buoys and weed mats to be placed
    • Tree work to begin soon; pruning, damaged limb removal, tree removal, and west beach tree trimming to allow more sun on the beach
  • According to the biologist, an overwhelming amount of Milfoil was killed with the last treatment.  More treatments may be needed based on Milfoil growth in May
  • There is a large algae bloom due to heavy rainfall and warmer temperatures
  • The City of Muskego owns the islands in the cul-de-sacs.  Efforts are being made to get the City to trim and remove dying trees as well as maintain the plantings
  • There is no homeowner lake clean-up day scheduled for this spring

  • Reminder to homeowners that plot maps for most lots are available.  Please email [email protected] if you would like to pick up your plot map

New Business

  • The 2024 Operating Budget was approved by unanimous vote. Please see the copy after the end of these minutes
  • Discussion of best practices for accounting
