ECC Committee meeting held on July 18, 2025.
ECC members in attendance: Dave McCoy, Nick Connor, Shari Berry, Ed Stukas, and Nate Ziarak.
Completed Tasks
- Aquatic vegetation treatment.
- Buoys, nets and weed mats have been placed.
- Mulch placed at flower beds
- Landscaped area by east beach boat storage area
Upcoming Tasks
- Order 5 CY of mulch for west beach flower beds
- Rototill east and west beaches and boat areas.
- Rake and clear weeds from beaches and boat areas.
- Order and place gravel on paths around the lake including access paths.
- Consult tree service contractor regarding dead tree by Ludington Court.
Maintenance
- Legacy Landscaping
- Mowing – completed weekly
- Mowing increases to ~$748.60 per cut in 2025. Average of 18 cuts = ~$13,475 annually in 2025.
- Shoreline mowing: completed early 2025. Invasive species treatments in summer and fall before next mowing.
- Path repair – 750 LF per year for $1,500.
- Nellen Tree Service
- Tree removal and pruning maintenance will be reviewed again in fall of 2025.
- Aquatic Biologists
- Budget includes two herbicide treatments of beach and boat areas in 2025.
- Aquatic Biologists proposes to manually cut the weeds outside the boat and beach areas twice a year, or as needed, when they come to treat the beaches and boat areas.
- Milfoil treatment evaluation – ongoing.
- Shoreline Maintenance
- Shoreline mowed every year in the winter.
- Native wildflower seeding where appropriate.
- Invasive species treatment twice a year.
- Radek focus: winter
- Topsoil and seed hill by stone wall.
- Radek focus: summer
- Beaches, boat areas and flower beds.
ECC Standards
- ECC has full authority for mooring placement but needs to follow the boat mooring request procedure approved in 2022 The board will not be involved moving forward.
- The ECC will make maintenance and contract decisions on behalf of the community.
- Maintenance decisions will be supported by contractor advice, community need, and highest and best use of funds.
- Contract decisions will be made with existing contractors based on cost and need.
- The ECC will ask for an advisory vote from the community on tasks that are not considered maintenance or contract decisions (i.e. projects based on an individual’s preference and not backed by need or maintenance). The ECC will consider the results of the vote and input from contractors, if appropriate, before moving forward with a final decision.
